These materials do not damage the waste with which they come into contact. Paving stones, rubble and tiles are also included in the inert waste category. However, it is always difficult to identify this type of waste. Plaster, for example, is not classified in this family. It is mixed with other organic substances. Also, it can produce smelly sulfur gases.

This waste generally comes from rehabilitation sites, mines and quarries, or from the maintenance of existing structures. Their management is subject to general regulations in terms of non-hazardous materials. Prevention plans provide, in fact, numerous provisions applicable to this waste.
